Wow! What another great turn out at the Annual MSSA golf tournament held at Oak Glen Golf Course in Stillwater! As usual, it was a well-attended event as many golfers and other guests contributed their time and energy and the best weather, making this once again a fun and exciting event!
Congratulations to Kevin Szozda, Tom Boyd, Brad Peterson and Matt Silasiri; winning this year’s tournament, collecting $125 cash each. Second place winning foursome went to Tim Rehak, Blake West, Steve Larson, and Marty West; each winning $100 cash. Third place foursome went to Wayde Donley, Melanie Donley, Scott Donley and Brad Wenlund. Each winning $75 in cash. Congratulations to the top three place finishers.
Now, you can’t forget about the team who finished in the rear, finishing in last place does have its benefits. Jimmy Krueger, Matt Mikkonen, Brittney Czubkowski and Felipe Luciano. Each hard-working golfer was entitled to a box of golf balls.
This year’s event also paid dividends to the 25th,20th, 10th & 4th place teams also. The 30th place team each won a jar of moonshine – Kevin Kelly, Caleb Peterson, Rich McNamara, and Kevin Leeson. The 25th Place team each won $20 in cash, Colleen Mercil, Mike Dahdal, Tarah Rouland and Eric Rouland. Scoring in 20th place, winning $25 cash each, Tami Diehm, Tim Yocum, Kevin Beck and Jim Dierking. Finishing in 10th place, was Mick Blazvic, Austin Truso, Chris Loch and the Fish Slayer! Each winning $30 cash. The team just finishing off the podium in 4th place, each winning $50 in cash, Brian Henderson, Joe Nissen, Bob Olson, and Gene Spalding.
In a more challenging setting, many golfers entertained themselves in the Mtn. Dew “Baja Blast Challenge”. Winning the Mtn. Dew “Baja Blast Closest to the bottle in the fairway challenge winning a Mtn. Dew Prize pack was the pro himself, Mike Hajlo. Throughout the day, there were many other prize holes including betting holes to raise money for the MSSA PAC Fund and NACSPAC.
Winner of the Rose City “Closest to the Pin” Challenge was Austin Truso winning a Rose City Blackstone! The winner of Men’s “Rockstar” Longest Drive was Matt Silasiri, winning $150 in cash. The winner of Woman’s “Lipton Pure Leaf” Longest Drive was Tarah Rouland, winning $150 cash!
Many golfers won a variety of large prizes, from 75” and 70” TV’s, Gift cards, Cash prizes, $750 Delta Airline gift card and many other great prizes raising money for our Pac Fund. This year, MSSA contributed a portion of Pac money raised to “NACSPAC” while also supporting SSDA.
