
Wow! What a blast everyone had at the Fifteenth Annual MSSA Ice fishing Tournament featuring nearly Sixty MSSA members and guests attending the unforgettable event at Grandview resort in Nisswa, MN. Must say this was the coldest MSSA Ice fishing tournament on record!
Wednesday evening was the official kick-off of the two-day event co-headlined by Growth Energy, Pepsi and Philip Morris International! Our first evening, many members and guests had a blast at the Altria, Frandsen Bank, Ascentium Capital and O’Day Equipment Beer Bash/Bingo Extravaganza satisfying our appetites and thirst for cash prizes! The fun was just beginning. Bingo was a huge hit! Many people won lots of cash through eight games of Bingo! During the event many raffle prizes and additional cash won by many in attendance!
After Bingo, members and guests gravitated to the MSSA hospitality house for many refreshments, snacks and fun hosted by Pepsi, Growth Energy, Pump & Meter, Wenzels Farm, Corporate Four Insurance, Frandsen Bank & Trust and Browns Ice Cream/7th Ave. Pizza. Not to mention the many games of billiards and foosball.
Both mornings, members and guests enjoyed the breakfast buffet provided by Quality Refrigeration and Oneok. A few hours later at 12:30pm, everyone enjoyed the “fisherman’s” lunch a never-ending meal consisting of soup, salad and wraps provided by Oneok, Zahl Petroleum Maintenance and Hunt Brothers Pizza. Shortly before 1:30pm the bell rang, and soon on our way to Gull Lake for a fun day of fishing and camaraderie. As MSSA’s ice fishing tournament kicked off, non-alcoholic beverages provided by Pepsi hydrating everyone, shack snacks and Zorbaz pizza courtesy of API, Wenzels Farm, Oneok, and Coremark-MSP keeping our energy up.
This year fishing was better as only a few anglers in select shacks didn’t catch a fish- catching a good time! Winning $400 at the fifteenth Annual MSSA Ice Fishing Tournament with a score of 344, Todd Houde, Jimmy Krueger, Jake Sulflow, Jayson Molitor and Fish Slayer Jr., Rick Gunslinger.
Second Place team winning, $200 with a score of 119, Erik Ogren, Scott Wickland and Andrew Christopherson. Winning $160, third place team with a score of 118.5 was Jeff Bagniewski, Tyler Peterson, Bruce Strandkov and Luke Goodwin.
Fourth Place winners with a score of 88, Chris Loch, Fish Slayer, Mike Bauer and Paul Moyahan, winning $100 cash.
Later that evening after fishing, all enjoyed a happy hour and awards ceremony compliments of Growth Energy, Pepsi, Philip Morris International, Rose City Canopy, Patron Points and Minnesota Lottery.
